Bringing AI into simulation was not simply a matter of connecting a language model to FlexSim.
It meant exploring a different way of working with simulation — using AI alongside simulation expertise to work faster, improve efficiency and uncover aspects of complex models that can be difficult to identify through conventional workflows alone.
This led to a fundamental question: what if we could work side by side with AI directly on our simulation models?
Flexcon Eidos is the result of this approach. It enables AI Agents to interact directly with live FlexSim models, opening the door to a new generation of AI-assisted simulation workflows.
From Simulation to AI-Assisted Simulation
Simulation has traditionally relied on a combination of software, models and specialist expertise. AI introduces the possibility of changing both what we simulate and how we work with simulation itself.
With Flexcon Eidos, an AI Agent can interact directly with a live FlexSim model, rather than simply providing suggestions or generating code outside the simulation environment.
This creates a different workflow. The simulation expert remains responsible for the engineering problem and its interpretation. The AI can assist with model exploration, development, execution and analysis.
Why is this different?
Generic AI tools have limited knowledge of FlexSim. They also have no direct way to understand or operate a live model. A professional FlexSim project can combine complex model trees, Process Flow, FlexScript, C++, Python and C#. It can also include custom libraries and external components.
Flexcon Eidos provides the missing connection between these elements and the AI Agent, allowing the Agent to work with the actual model and its surrounding project context.
This is the foundation for a different approach to simulation: AI does not replace the simulation expert — it becomes another tool the expert can work with.
